CLEVELAND, Aug. 13, 2013 – Celebrating 15 years of tackling hunger for Northeast Ohio families, the Taste of the Browns Celebrity Dinner returns to the Cleveland Browns’ FirstEnergy Stadium on Monday, Sept. 9, 2013. The event is the major annual fundraiser for the Cleveland Foodbank, the region’s largest hunger relief organization. With the more than $140,500 raised at the 2012 event, the Foodbank was able to distribute more than half a million meals to agencies in six counties.
The Cleveland Browns and Northeast Ohio's most talented chefs will work together to raise awareness and funds for hungry families, all while celebrating Cleveland’s unique and acclaimed culinary talents.
"We are excited to work as partners again with the Cleveland Browns as we tackle hunger in Northeast Ohio at the 15th annual Taste of the Browns,” said Anne Goodman, president and CEO of the Cleveland Foodbank. “As always, we look forward to celebrating our city’s love of its sports team and our unique and acclaimed culinary talents, all while providing hundreds of thousands of meals to needy Northeast Ohioans."
This year’s fundraiser will feature more than 30 of the region’s finest restaurants and chefs, such as Rocco Whalen (Fahrenheit, Rosie and Rocco’s); Zack Bruell (Chinato, Cowell & Hubbard, L'Albatros Brasserie, Parallax, Table 45); Jonathon Sawyer (Greenhouse Tavern); Dan Deagan (Deagan’s Kitchen and Bar); Chris Hodgson (Hodge’s); Eric Williams (Momocho and El Carnicero); Matthew Mathlage (Light Bistro); Jeff Jarrett (AMP 150); and more. Honorary event co-chairs are current All-Pro Left Tackle Joe Thomas and past Browns Alumni Co-Chairs.
In addition to sampling the city’s best cuisines and mingling with Cleveland Browns alumni and current players, attendees can bid on silent and live auction items to benefit the Foodbank. The auctions include items such as complimentary one-day Park Hopper passes (admission to Magic Kingdom, Epcot, Disney Hollywood Studios, and Disney Animal Park) at DisneyWorld; a two-night stay, butler service, breakfast and dinner at Nemacolin Woodlands Resort; four lower box tickets to a 2013 regular season home game with the Cleveland Indians; autographed Browns memorabilia; and much more.
The event will be held in the City View Club Lounge. New for 2013: Attendees have the option to purchase general admission tickets for $175 ($75.00 of which is tax-deductible) or VIP tickets for $250 ($150 of which is tax-deductible).
