Ohioans at or below 175 percent of the federal poverty level that have either an elderly member of the household (60 years or older), or provide physician documentation that cooling assistance is needed for a household member's health can receive assistance. The program helps eligible households purchase an air conditioner or fan, and/or assist in the payment of an electric bill. Below is more detail on the program. We also have compiled tips for how stay cool on the extremely hot days (attached pdf).
