The Nordson Corporation has provided $45,000 in scholarship support to the 2013-2014 campaign of The Ohio Foundation of Independent Colleges (OFIC). .
With a cumulative giving total of $860,500, the Nordson Corporation has supported the mission of OFIC to provide access to independent higher education to Ohio’s students for 26 years. The Foundation has designated its support specifically to provide scholarships to students from Lorain County and is currently providing scholarships to 34 students enrolled in OFIC member colleges and universities.
Ian McQuaid is a Nordson Corporation scholar and carries a double major in Mathematics and Computer Science at Cedarville University. He wrote to his donor, “I want to express my deep appreciation for your gift. I am in the Air Force ROTC and want to use my talents serving my country, I hope in the field of cyber operations. I will take an internship with the Air Force research lab this summer and assist government personnel with research regarding America’s well-being. I also hope to obtain my master’s degree at the Air Force Institute of Technology. Your gift has helped make these opportunities possible, to attend school and succeed academically, and, long-term, will help me enter into active duty, where I hope, in some measure, to pay back your generosity through service to this country. Thank you very much. May you be blessed as you have blessed me”.
